ARTISTS
STATEMENT
The world has suffered
through many tragedies wars, 9-11 and more all at the hand
of man. Also, natural disasters to further cause anguish
floods, earthquakes, and fires to name a few. Like everyone, I
have been saddened and horrified at each occurrence.
As an artist, I wanted to
express my thoughts on these tragedies. I decided not to paint
death, destruction and human anguish but a hope for the
future. To paint the wonderful simple things that have occurred
and will occur again and again in the future. With clear colours,
recognizable shapes and drawing on past and present experiences.
I paint people enjoying simple pleasures within their
environment, or, getting a fresh perspective on life.
